Welcome
Since May 2008, I have been blogging about healthy eating and weight loss/maintenance. I lost 70 lbs in 2007 and now I'm working on maintaining that loss through healthy eating, exercise and a peaceful vegan lifestyle. Any questions? Email me at seesaraheat@gmail.comTwitter

I LOVE MAC DANZIG! and me and my love go out to watch the UFC, too. I always thought it was weird. So glad we’re not alone!!!
Not weird at all! It’s cheaper than ordering the PPV at home but we do indulge sometimes
hey sarah! just to warn you, at my local bww, they told me everything (including the fries) was fried in lard. most ridiculous thing ever, no? so you may wanna check w/ yours if you want some fries.
Thanks Kayci! Wow, that is gross. I asked one time and they told me that the fries are cooked in the same oil as mozzarella sticks but I don’t remember hearing anything about lard. I will ask next time though. We have several different locations here in town so I suppose one could do it differently than the other. Thanks for the info!
I would definitely veto any future trips there – they aren’t even trying to appease vegetarians! Try BD’s Mongolian Grill – tons of meat options for those so inclined and lots of vegan-friendly stuff too!
I would avoid this place at all costs but it is literally the only place we know that shows the UFC pay per views (I think Hooters might but that’s a whole other mess). That is the ONLY thing that gets me in the door and I complain about it frequently
I <3 BD's!
That was a really interesing article about Mac Danzig. I don’t follow UFC (not even really sure what it is???), but I enjoyed reading about him and his diet! I should send the article to my daughter’s p.e. teacher.
My daughter (who is also veg) has a vegetarian friend who signed up to play sports. The coach told her she could not play sports if she continued to be veg. Can you believe that?!?!?! Heh, so many people are so very uneducated about vegan and vegetarian diets. Sigh.
Thanks for sharing!
Love,
J.
I am horrified to hear that! Sounds like a form of discrimination to me. There are quite a few vegan and vegetarian athletes out there who are doing just fine.
Thanks for your input
I agree! I was so…I want to say mad, but really I was more shocked(!) that she said that! I would have gone all sorts of crazy on the coach if it were MY daughter she told that to!
