Turkey day Eve

I can’t believe I fit everything I ate today into five pictures! Usually I have way more, but I kept it pretty simple today I guess. Been busy preparing some holiday dishes that I will share with you in my next post. One of them will probably look familiar to some of you 🙂 I also have another cool surprise to share with you all on the subject of products I’ve been wanting to try.

Breakfast this morning was a cup of Kashi Go Lean cereal with 1/2 cup plain soymilk and 1/4 cup of pomegranate seeds. This was my first time having pom seeds and I absolutely love them! It was a little bit of work getting them out but they taste great and were totally worth it. I can’t wait to buy more in the future!

I also had a cup of coffee with 1/4 cup soymilk and Equal…actually I dragged it out to 2 cups today and boy was I fidgetty — from now on, only 1 cup max 😉

I did not eat again until lunch, so this cereal held me better than it usually does — that and I was distracted by household chores and some old episodes of “Six Feet Under” one of my all-time favorite shows! That is one thing time off work is good for, catching up on old tv, haha.

I had lunch with my aunt today at Cracker Barrel and before I even gave it a second thought, I ordered the oven roasted turkey salad (minus the croutons) with ranch dressing on the side. OMG. we’re having turkey tomorrow, duh! But then I realized turkey and chicken are two things I never tire of, so I think I’ll be okay. This salad was amazing, by the way.

Later in the afternoon, I snacked on some mixed nuts while I slaved away in the kitchen 🙂

Our girls potluck dinner tonight consisted of lots of beans and veggies. No complaints for the most part but there was some miscommunication and unexpected snafus which led to this. But everything tasted good! I went back for seconds, which was about half what you see here.

Oops, I almost forgot…last minute addition, so I’m up to 6 pics for the day now…I had two of these: Yellowtail Pinot Grigio!

Dessert – Pumpkin dip with ginger snaps…recipe coming later! 🙂 By the way, I had a few more ginger snaps than is shown here, I had dip leftover!

Be back before ya know it 🙂

p.s. Edit — I forgot to mention that I walked the dog 4 times, did some shopping, housework, etc. all of which I counted as exercise for today, haha. But I also got in a couple sets of pushups, dips, crunches (two kinds), and some light weights, I only have 5 lb’ers at home but it’s better than nothing 🙂

  1. Are pom seeds tart? I’ve never had them and I don’t really like tart things so I don’t know if I should even bother trying ’em.

Woohoo for girl’s pot luck – those nights are always a blast!

    Have a great Thanksgiving!!
