This morning when I got to work, I had one cup of coffee with Equal and 1% milk. I managed to hold off on a second cup because I felt good and would rather drink some more H2O, hooray!
Later in the morning, I had some cheese cubes as a snack (cheddar and monterey jack). These have been in my fridge for a while, need to eat them:
Then I got really cold so I made myself a cup of peppermint green tea with…guess what..NOTHING! I just drank it straight up, the peppermint-y taste was enough.
Around 11, I headed over to the gym and hopped on the treadmill. I decided to (sort of) follow Caitlin
‘s lead again and do 1/4 mile intervals like she suggested, only I modified mine a bit. I started off walking the first 0.25 mile, then I ran the last 0.75, alternating between a slow jog and a moderate jog (note: all done at 1.0 incline). Nothing too fast, I’m still trying to get back in running “shape” haha.
Here’s the rundown (pun intended):
0-0.25 miles – Walk, 3.0-3.8 mph
0.25-0.50 – Jog, 4.5 mph
0.50-0.75 – Run, 5.0 mph
0.75-1.00 – Jog, 4.5 mph
1.00-1.25 – Walk, 3.8 mph
1.25-1.50 – Run, 5.0 mph
1.50-1.75 – Jog, 4.5 mph
1.75-2.00 – Run, 5.0 mph
2.00-2.25 – Walk, 3.8 mph
2.25-2.50 – Run, 5.0 mph
2.50-2.75 – Jog, 4.5 mph
2.75-2.80 – Run, 5.0 mph
2.80-2.90 – Run, 5.5 mph (*I got bold here at the end!)
2.90-3.00 – Run, 5.0 mph
3.00-3.10 – Walk, 2.5-3.5 mph (slowly decreased to cool down)
I ended up doing three miles total (ran 2.25, walked 0.75) and with a cool down at the end, I did 3.1 miles in about 40 minutes (paid more attention to distance this time) and burned around 360 calories.
I liked watching the distance this time and I could feel toward the end that 4.5 mph is getting too slow for me to jog at anymore, I could almost walk at that speed! So I think I will bump it up here soon 🙂
