Sorry for the delay you guys. I really appreciate everyone’s comments on my previous post. I think I’m finally rested and clear-headed enough to get back to blogging now, yay!
Let’s back up, shall we? Friday was a good day. First, I had that awesome oatmeal that held me over until lunch and then when I went to eat lunch, I got halfway done with my sandwich and orange when I realized…I was full! I was proud of myself to notice so I put half my sandwich and orange away for later.
I did end up eating it later on, but I think if I had eaten it all at lunch time, I would’ve been too full or I would’ve ended up eating my afternoon snack and needing another eventually. Either way, I’m glad I did things the way I did.
My afternoon snack of Fage 0% with strawberries and Kashi Cocoa Beach granola was ah-mazing. I made good use of my coffee cup too 🙂
After work, I went to the gym for an “easy” workout. I ended up doing 15 easy minutes each on the treadmill (walking), stationary bike, and elliptical trainer (level 4-5 instead of my usual 8-9). Then I did loads of stretching, some ab work and upper body weights. I probably did too much the day before the race but I was feeling really energetic and I don’t think my performance the next day suffered.
For dinner, we went to Goose Creek Diner, which was a nice change from our usual haunts. I ordered half a chicken salad sandwich with a bowl of beans and ham soup. We also had some mini corn muffins to start out (three for me):
Everything was so good!
Afterward we went grocery shopping and ran some other errands before coming home to watch “W” which I actually stayed awake for! It was a good movie and even though it wasn’t completely factually based, it sort of gave me some insight to our now former President’s journey to the White House. And Josh Brolin did a really good job with that voice 😉
Grocery goodies: Multigrain Cheerios, orange juice, strawberries, applesauce, Kashi cereal, sweet potato, frozen pepper mix, veggie chili, dark chocolate M&M’s, dark chocolate Dove bar, tuna packet.
For dessert, I had a couple tablespoons of White Chocolate Wonderful and a cup of Multigrain Cheerios:
I got to bed early and got some quality rest before my early wake up call (not really, about the same time I get up for work) for the race the next day 🙂
