I was up bright and early this morning at 6 a.m. thanks to the doggie and my growling stomach 😉
When we came back from our walk, I made a nice warm bowl of oat bran with skim milk, peanut butter and blueberries!
After breakfast, I went upstairs in my newly clean and more organized second bedroom to do some yoga!
Erin let me in on the fact that Dave Farmar has free podcasts on iTunes, so I decided to subscribe and try out some Power Yoga for myself 🙂
It was NO JOKE. About 23 minutes in after several rounds of sun salutes and chatarungas, I had to turn it off and hang out in child’s pose for a bit. I decided to finish up with my own moves like tree pose, pigeon, and a few others to stretch out.
I think when I’m feeling a bit more energetic I will have to try for the full 60 but I’m glad I got to try it and for free!
Since I had breakfast so early, I was ready for a snack when church was starting. I ate one of these bars that I got for Josh but he didn’t like.
I had gotten away from eating bars for the most part because of their sugar content but this was more convenient since it was portable and I need to use them up anyway.
It tastes okay, actually not too sweet considering it has 13 grams of sugar. But I wouldn’t buy them again.
We had lunch with my parents today at Max & Erma’s. I ordered the black bean veggie burger which comes with guacamole on top and a side green salad with balsamic.

I decided to forego the bun and just eat the patty which had both guac and pico de gallo! It was so spicy but totally awesome. I’d ordered this before but they made it extra good today. I also enjoyed that the side salad was not lame iceberg but truly green.
After lunch, I had two more of my new discovery:
I have to say, I cannot tell a huge difference between these and regular Reese’s mini peanut butter cups but I’m a fan of dark chocolate so it’s nice to try it in many different forms.
After my lunch dessert, I got to work on some house work, including cleaning out and organizing my bathroom cabinets. It feels so good to have more stuff in order, I hope this streak I’m on continues!
A couple hours later, I felt hungry, so I decided to finish off the container of Fage 0% topped with some Smucker’s Natural PB.
I can’t wait to try the 2% later this week, I love the 0, but I’m sure having just a little bit of fat makes a difference.
I took Suzie for a short walk and then started to get hungry for dinner. I knew I wanted to use some shrimp I had in the freezer, but I got creative with it too.
I started off by thawing out the shrimp (it’s already cooked) and then marinating it in some spicy garlic wing sauce (which is HFCS free, thank goodness).
Then I chopped up a tomato (from my mom’s boss’s garden!) and about 1/3 of a big green pepper I got at the store.
I used some wooden skewers we’ve had forever and made little kebabs, which I baked in the oven since our grill is currently out of gas 😦
I broiled them on high for 10 minutes, getting everything nice and warm and the veggies just slightly wilted.
I also made a side of broccoli that was leftover in the fridge.
Oh my gosh, so good!
This was really good and a lot more enjoyable than my last shrimp experiment. I’m glad I bought this bag of shrimp to experiment with but I think next time I’ll get a bag without tails just to make things easier 😉
I tried a new drink with dinner too. These were on sale for $1 at Whole Foods over the weekend!
Unsweetened green tea. Exactly what I wanted 🙂 Did you know tea is the 2nd most popular beverage, second only to water? The things you learn from reading labels…I love how there are no additives too.

I’m off to do some more house work and probably catch an early bed time since I got my day started so early and have not taken a nap (unlike yesterday where I snoozed for 2 hours before going to Courtney’s).
